How To Score a Hot Chick

Conventional wisdom is that women want good-looking

masculine men who rarely show their feminine sides. A

Canadian study of people using a London dating agency

showed that women preferred men who were kind and

generous. Men and women were asked to evaluate photos

and profiles of people for long-term and short-term

relationships. Some of the profiles were changed to show

altruistic interests, such as working with the disabled or

homeless. Women were more likely than men to choose

altruistic mates.

While appearances were important for men and women,

personality factors became more important during the

second or third date. The take-home message is if you want

to score, tone down the macho rhetoric and tell her about

your work with Mother Teresa and the earthquake victims in

Haiti.
